the Creation of She is Fierce

With over 20 years of experience as an educator and researcher, I have always been passionate about creating spaces for learning, growth, and transformation. My professional career began in education, where I dedicated two decades to teaching, mentoring, and conducting research focusing on the relationship between language and identity.

During this time, I also founded She is Fierce, a women’s empowerment organization that focuses on supporting women from diverse backgrounds to find their voice, claim their space, advocate for themselves, and build lives rooted in confidence and purpose. Uniquely, drawing from my own experience as a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, I also teach women empowering self-defense techniques so that they feel more confident in speaking up for themselves and enforcing their personal boundaries.
